Location and Directions (see map above)
Click Here for more maps and directions from Mapquest.com Your target is Cowichan Bay, a seaside village on the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, a 45-minute scenic drive from Victoria, about 60 minutes from the B.C. Ferries terminal at Swartz Bay or the Washington State Ferries terminal at Sidney. Arriving at the Swartz Bay or Sidney terminals -- Go with the traffic flow along Highway 17 toward Victoria until you come to signs pointing right toward Nanaimo and Highway No.1, the main north-south Island highway. Highway No.1 will take you over the Malahat, a modest coastal mountain with magnificent ocean views (great photo opportunities). The first community you will then pass is Mill Bay. Several traffic lights later, you will come to the Cowichan Bay Road intersection (lots of signage). Turn right on Cowichan Bay Road about 4 miles to Cowichan Bay. The Old Farm B and B is on Cowichan Bay Road, about a mile north beyond the village on the water side. From Victoria (including the Coho Ferries terminal downtown) -- Douglas Street is the main exit route from downtown Victoria, beginning at the Parliament Buildings and Empress Hotel, and becoming Highway No.1 (the Island Highway). From downtown Victoria stay on Douglas Street and follow the signs toward Nanaimo (avoid 1-A or 17 turnoffs). You will soon be out of Victoria and following directions (as above). Arriving at Nanaimo (Duke Point or Departure Bay terminals) -- These terminals are about 35 and 45 minutes, respectively, north of Cowichan Bay. From either terminal, follow signs pointing toward southward to Victoria via Highway No.1, then follow Highway No.1 to Duncan. Immediately beyond Duncan, you will see a flashing light and signs pointing left to Cowichan Bay. This is Cowichan Bay Road which you will follow for about 3 miles to the Old Farm B and B on your left.
Just look for our sign on the road...and start a truly memorable stay!
